Overview of schools
学校苏黎世联邦理工学院（简称ETH），建校于1855年，位于德语区的苏黎世；作为欧陆理工名校之一，同时也是爱因斯坦的母校。
The school of the Zurich Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) was founded in 1855 in Zurich, in the German-speaking region; is one of the EULPOs and is also Einstein's parent school .
ETH D-arch位于ETH H?nggerberg校区，每天上学路上可以俯瞰苏黎世城区美景。校区建筑整体偏简练工业风，教学区后的半山上有一片森林和草坪，可以学习之余闲逛放松身心，同时也是相关专业的户外实践场地。
ETH-D-arch is located in the ETH H?nggerberg campus, where you can view the beauty of Zurich every day on the way to school.

ProgramStructure Curriculum
随着CHRISTOPHE GIROT和GüNTHER VOGT两位教授的退休，现在MLA项目主要由TERESA GALí-IZARD和MARTINA VOSER负责。
With the retirement of Professors CHRISTOPHE GIROT and GüNTHER VOGT, the MLA project is now mainly under the responsibility of TERESA GALí-IZARD and MARTINA VOSER.
景观项目共分为4个学期，外加6个月的实习。课程主要以studio为核心，基础课程、核心课程、研讨周为辅。
The landscape project is divided into four semesters, plus six months of internships.
Foundation Studio是每学期的固定必修；第一学期不可以选课，从第二学期开始可以选择上不同的core courses，会和建筑/城规/工程等专业的同学一起上课。选修课程内容囊括了不同大小尺度，城市，农业，生态系统等多方向。
The courses are offered on different scales, cities, agriculture, ecosystems, etc.

Semester 1的课程主要由以下六个模块组成（M1-6），并分别和相应的基础课程和studio结合。
The Semester 1 course consists mainly of the following six modules (M1-6) and combines the respective basic courses with the studio.
课程安排每周会进行一个模块的教学，上午会邀请不同学院的教授来上理论课，下午主要是studio deskcritic / 软件课digital design method或自由时间。
The course is arranged for a module to be taught every week, and professors from different colleges are invited in the morning for theoretical courses, and in the afternoon, mainly for the studio deskcritic/software course, or for free time.
软件课digital design method 主要针对rhino，grasshopper和QGIS。
Software classes mainly target rhino, grasshopper and QGIS.
Studio前期每周会结合理论课有不同的作业，例如设计场地的土壤组成，植物生命周期，适宜某植物生长的微气候/微地形营造等。期末前的四周就结束理论课，全身心投入studio最终的项目。课程安排主要希望在前期每周的训练中不断加深我们对场地的认知，以及设计方法的不断完善，最终引导出studio final project。
Chair of Being Alive网站上有记录Tersa授课的一些往届课程作业，可以帮助大家更好地了解这里景观的整体教学偏好。当然图纸风格就是典型的北欧黑白画，所以在这样的要求下也让我更强烈地意识到图纸逻辑的重要性，以及如何增加表达内容来丰富图纸。
The Chair of Being Alive has documented some of the previous courses that Tersa has taught, which can help you better understand the overall teaching preferences of the landscape. Of course, the drawing style is typical of the Nordic black and white drawings, so it also gives me a stronger sense of the importance of drawing logic and of how to enrich drawings with more expression.

另外每周我们都会根据理论课程内容，有半天出去excursion。虽然每次都累死累活，但不可否认多走，多看是帮助我们近距离接触景观的有效手法之一，无论是自然层面，还是设计层面。
And we go out half a day every week, according to the theoretical course. Although we're tired every time, we can't deny that more is one of the effective ways to help us get close to the landscape, both at the natural level and at the design level.

Study at ETH?
课程体验
course experience
ETH Landscape Architecture专业是23fall第一年开始全英授课，目前专业招收人数相对较少（大部分为建筑本科但有相关景观学习/工作经验）。因此，师生比较高，studio期间每周都会和老师有多次deskcritic，老师对每个学生的项目了解比较深入，并能够及时地给出引导和建议。
The ETH Landscape Architecture course, which started in the first year of 23fall, is currently relatively small in number
整体第一学期的课程比较紧凑，每周会有studio和软件课的作业，周中一般会有两次deskcritic，探讨近两天的进程以及点评引导如何完成完善本周的作业。所以基本上是没有太多的“完全自由时间”。
The course for the first semester as a whole is rather compact, with studio and software classes operating on a weekly basis, and usually twice a week with deskcritic, which explores the process over the last two days and how the evaluation guides how to complete this week’s work. So there is basically not much “full freedom time”.
另外项目招收的同学们基本上都来自世界各地，有着不同的文化背景，能够有很充分的留学体验。
Other students enrolled in the project are mostly from all over the world, with different cultural backgrounds and extensive study experience.
