In a joint statement, Gold and Silver Markets London (LondonBullion Market Association) and the World GoldCouncil (WGC) announced on Monday that they were developing a grid-based gold retroactive digital system that used a block chain to record the history of gold transactions from mines to safe deposit boxes. The initiative was aimed at enhancing transparency and preventing the flow of gold extracted by criminal gangs or conflict zones into bank vaults.
